May 18, 2013 at 12:48 am #Medicalmalpractice #healthcare #lawsuits #medical error #tortreform - Great article discussing how medical malpractice lawsuits can actually help improve patient care. The information was learned from interviews with hospital risk managers. We need to get to a point when we realize we all want the same goal, safer, affordable healthcare! Right now, "[e]ach year tens of thousands of people die, and hundreds of thousands more are injured, as a result of medical error." This needs to change and the courthouse doors need to be open to those who are harmed by medical errors!

Shameful! The Seventh Amendment is supposed to protect this right to a trial by jury! Legislators have no right to take it away!
When a surgeon operated on the wrong side of a Missouri woman’s skull, her only recourse was the court system. So why are Missouri lawmakers trying to take away that right? http://bit.ly/132A8Fx

Clearly claims are not keeping rates high for doctor's insurance! We need a change in the law in California!
Think medical malpractice insurance rates are too high? You are not alone. While companies take premiums from doctors & hospitals, they don’t have to pay much out in claims due to CA’s outdated cap on malpractice awards. http://buswk.co/12dnwuh

Haggai Law Firm offers dedicated representation to motorcycle accident and other types of personal injury victims in Los Angeles and surrounding cities. People that have been injured in traffic accidents, workplace incidents, on business property, or due to malfunctioning equipment have the right to file legal claims for compensation. The Haggai Law Firm specializes in these types of cases, and handles legal matters such as wrongful termination, breach of contract, sexual harassment cases, wrongful termination, fraud cases and other business litigation. Christa R. Haggai, Attorney-at-law, handles cases with professionalism, experience and sympathetic understanding.
Most people have heard of multimillion-dollar awards in extreme cases, but even minor injuries could entitle victims to compensation. Haggai Law Firm offers free consultations to help clients understand the merits of their cases. People with legitimate claims do not need extensive personal resources to file lawsuits. The firm accepts cases on a contingency basis, which means that clients only need to pay if they are awarded damages by a jury or in settlement agreements.
Personal injuries generate serious consequences. In many cases, victims lose time from work, experience pain and suffering, or their ability to work may be compromised by their injuries. If someone else’s actions, property, or negligence caused or contributed to the injuries, then victims have the right to seek damages in court. Injury cases can be complex, and they sometimes last for many years. At other times, insurance companies are quick to settle, but this often means they fear the prospect of paying out much higher awards if taken to court.
Deciding whether to sue, settle, or pursue a case can be confusing and emotionally charged. Legal advice helps people make important decisions about which course to pursue. Regardless, the best practice is to consult an attorney immediately after a car accident or other injury. If possible, injury victims should always document the details of their motorcycle injuries, work injuries, or other legal claims.
The practice specializes in personal injury law, but it also handles violations of personal rights. Sexual harassment, workplace violence, breach of contract, wrongful termination, and civil rights violations routinely occur in the modern workplace, but victims of these rights violations enjoy the freedom to seek legal remedies. Legal action could put a stop to the offensive behavior and qualify for cash damages in compensation.
